Dr. Adriana Santoro
Adriana is a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy (PT, DPT) from MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA. Her 20+ years of experience in dance and 10 years of teaching Pilates across the northeast contribute to her unique perspective as a movement specialist. Her empathy and creativity have contributed to her success during patient care across various outpatient orthopedic clinical settings. She enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds, and especially has interest in dance medicine, sports medicine, and manual therapy.
Adriana is passionate about advocacy and growth in her professions and was honored to serve as the Student Representative of APTA Massachusetts while in graduate school. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, International Association for Dance Medicine & Science, and Pilates Method Alliance. She is also a PWR!Moves Certified Therapist for working with patients with Parkinson’s Disease. Her commitment to providing excellent care for her patients drives her strong interests in continuing education and evidence based research. Overall, she believes empowering patients with good understanding and appropriate strategies is an effective foundation for injury prevention and recovery.
Dr. Adriana Santoro’s interest in rehabilitation began early on during her many years of classical ballet training at American Repertory Ballet in Princeton, NJ. She pursued coursework in Exercise Science toward her physical therapy career while completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.
Adriana has performed professionally with various artists over the years, and many of her own choreographic dance works have been showcased across NYC. While at Rutgers, she completed her extensive training as a Pilates for Rehabilitation Practitioner through Polestar Pilates, and is a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT). She continues to develop and intersect her dance and Pilates backgrounds outside of her work as a physical therapist.
In her free time, Adriana enjoys quality time with family and friends. Tabletop board games, exploring nature, and boarding sports including longboarding, snowboarding, and skimboarding are among some of her favorite things to do. She values an active, healthy lifestyle and looks forward to helping you achieve your rehabilitation goals for a better quality of life.
